Budapest is in the Top 5 as a Creative and Cultural European City

Budapest has gained a prominent place in the extensive research conducted by the European Commission, called the "Creative and Cultural Cities Monitor" study. Budapest has been ranked among the top five in several categories, which has again demonstrated a favorable environment for innovation, relaxation, creation and chill out.
The objective of the Cultural and Creative Cities Monitor is to help national, regional and municipal decision-makers identify local strengths and opportunities, and help cities compare with comparable other country centers using quantitative and qualitative data that served as the basis for the survey. The study is therefore a tool for promoting mutual exchange and learning between cities, and supports the European Commission's efforts to put culture at the center of its political agenda. It provides a common evidence base at urban level, which illuminates the importance of culture and creativity and contributes to improving socio-economic prospects and resilience.
The ideal city, according to the Monitor, is the collage of 8 small and medium-sized cities in Europe: it offers most new jobs in the creative sector like Umea; is the leader in intellectual property and innovation as Eindhoven; has many cultural venues and opportunities such as Cork; provides a number of creative and knowledge-based jobs and high cultural participation as in Paris; the role of human resource and education is significant as in Leuven; open and tolerant as Glasgow; has significant local and international connections as Utrecht; and ultimately the quality of government is decent as in Copenhagen.
Budapest is the Second Best in the Integration of Foreigners
Budapest started in the XXL Cities category, as it has more than 1 million inhabitants. It has been ranked among the top five in five categories, moreover, after Birmingham Budapest became the second best city for the integration of foreigners. But the number of nights spent by most tourists, the number of seats in cinemas, the theatrical opportunities, and the number of new businesses giving the most jobs in the creative sector helped Budapest to stand at the forefront.
The data were based on several sources for the Commission. Eurobarometer, Eurostat, TripAdvisor and other sources were taken into account. Cities that have already been awarded or awarded the title "European Capital of Culture" or "Creative Cities," or hosting at least two international festivals regularly will be able to get involved in the survey.
Hungary has not only been included with the capital city. Győr, Pécs and Szeged have been awarded a prize in their own categories. Győr has achieved noble rank on the list, especially due to its the Győr Ballet, the National Theater of Győr, other festivals and good accessibility. Pécs has done well not only in theater and concert programs, but also in terms of tolerance indicators. Szeged, as an educational center and a theatrical city, has been added to the map of Europe's Creative and Cultural Cities too.
